DOVER TESTING

  1. Lights & Sounds: The DT (LS) system evaluates a person's ability to perceive and react to visual and auditory stimuli. It tests coordination between the eyes, hands, and feet by using five basic colors and varying sounds, assessing responses under normal conditions, pressure, and during recovery. The evaluation focuses on both primary and global reactions, with a total score reflecting overall performance.
  1. Shapes: The system involves recognizing shapes and distinguishing between similar or different ones. It goes beyond simple recognition, requiring insight to see, decide, and select or choose the correct shape. This process also measures intelligence by evaluating the ability to take in the entire picture and derive meaningful conclusions. Shape recognition, including aspects like size, quantity, and volume, is crucial for all mechanical and industrial jobs.
  2. Squares: The system focuses on evaluating concentration and attention, accounting for factors like mental, physical, and muscular fatigue that can lead to delayed reactions. It also assesses situational awareness, including the ability to adapt to varying light conditions, such as those encountered in dark environments like mines, factories, or during nighttime driving. Additionally, it measures driving awareness, specifically the ability to distinguish figures from the background.
  3. Move: This system evaluates muscle coordination, focusing on medium-level coordination skills, which are more refined than those tested in the Lights (DT) test. It assesses left and right functions separately and measures basic driving skills at three levels: simple, semi-complex, and complex, including the ability to perform in reverse mode.
  4. Co-Ord: The system assesses a person's ability to estimate movement direction and speed, judge their position in the environment, and make reactive estimations. It evaluates performance in both straight-line and complex movements, particularly when driving complex machines. The system also considers the anticipation of other machines or equipment within a simulated 3D environment and examines how fatigue impacts judgment.

BRAKE TESTING

  • Brake Testing of all trackless mobile machinery measured against SABS specifications; we test the service, park, emergency and failsafe brakes.
  • SANS 1589: The braking performance of trackless underground mining vehicle: - Load haul dumpers and dump trucks.
  • SANS1447 Braking: Motor and towed vehicles, designed for low speed or for use off public roads.
  • SANS 3450 Braking: Earth moving machinery. Braking systems of rubber-tired machine. Systems and performance requirements and test procedures
  • SANS 20013: Surface vehicles. This specification covers the braking system of motor vehicles and trailers. Maximum design speed exceeding 35km/h intended for use on public roads.
  • SANS 6292 Powered industrial trucks and tractors. Brake performance and component strength.

TAGGING

  • Vehicle/equipment inspection tagging, we perform a full inspection on vehicles/equipment to ensure that the vehicle/equipment complies with site regulations. To inspect and report any equipment not in a good working order or fault using different reporting structures. We supply a certificate & keep records of all test in a database.
