The Truck Mounted Crane C32 Operator skills programme is a QCTO-accredited qualification designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to operate a Truck Mounted Crane C32. This type of crane is mounted on a truck chassis and is used for lifting, lowering, and moving loads in suspension. The course focuses on safe operation, compliance with safety regulations, and effective communication in industrial environments. Learners will gain an understanding of crane mechanics, mobilization, demobilization, and operational best practices, ensuring they can safely and efficiently perform lifting tasks in various work settings.
The programme consists of five knowledge modules and six practical modules, completed over 53 days. Entry requirements include an NQF Level 2 qualification with Mathematical Literacy, and learners must be at least 18 years old, as per Driven Machinery Regulations (DMR) and Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines. Participants will develop hands-on experience in pre-start checks, operational procedures, crane positioning, and hazard identification.
