The Rough Terrain Lift Truck F11 Driver skills programme is a QCTO-accredited qualification designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a Rough Terrain Lift Truck F11. This lift truck is used for lifting, lowering, storing, and retrieving earthmoving or agricultural equipment with specialized attachments. Learners will gain a thorough understanding of the high-risk environments they will be working in, including the physics of momentum and the challenges of operating in diverse terrains. Additionally, the course emphasizes effective communication skills necessary for working in noisy industrial settings while ensuring compliance with Driven Machinery Regulations (DMR) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The programme consists of six knowledge modules and five practical modules, completed over 33 days. Entry requirements include an NQF Level 2 qualification with Mathematical Literacy, and learners must be at least 18 years old, as per regulatory guidelines. Participants will develop hands-on experience in pre-start checks, load handling, positioning, refueling, parking, and shutdown procedures. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a QCTO-accredited Occupational Certificate, qualifying them as Rough Terrain Lift Truck F11 Drivers ready for industrial and agricultural applications.
