The National Occupational Certificate: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Officer is a QCTO-accredited qualification designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to ensure workplace health and safety compliance. This course prepares individuals to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate safety measures within an organization. Learners will gain expertise in conducting workplace inspections, leading safety meetings, overseeing incident investigations, and ensuring adherence to OHS policies and regulations.
Through a combination of knowledge, practical, and workplace modules, participants will develop the competencies needed to evaluate and recommend risk management controls, manage OHS documentation, and contribute to the development of workplace safety standards. The course can be completed within 1 to 3 months and requires an NQF Level 3 qualification as an entry requirement. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a QCTO-accredited Occupational Certificate, qualifying them to work as Occupational Health and Safety Officers in various industries.
