Course Overview

This course equips learners to conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments. Moderation ensures that assessments are fair, valid, reliable, and free of bias, in accordance with quality assurance standards and national qualifications frameworks. It is relevant across education, training, and human resource development sectors.

Entry Requirements

  • Prior experience in assessment processes, particularly with outcomes-based assessments.

  • Recognition of prior learning for the unit standard: Conduct Outcomes-Based Assessments (NLRD 115753) is assumed.

  • Evaluative expertise within the field relevant to the moderation activities.

  • Basic understanding of educational or training contexts and assessment principles.

  • Access to or familiarity with organisational assessment and moderation policies and procedures (a mock system may be provided if unavailable).
